Well,  Our finish wasnt that great,  but we had one HELL of a good time!

Thanks to Adam Hollerbach, Phil Oneil(PROPANE), & Lindsie Beauchamp for helping us go sailing and have a lot of fun!
There was never a dull moment, whether Adam was air humping the boys on Target Practice or mooning them,  there was never a lack of things to laugh about.

We ended up 15th out of 24 which wasn't great, but not horrible.

We'll see you all next time. ;-)

Team RumBlur takes 4th Place at St. Pete NOOD

Team RumBlur took 4th Place at St. Pete NOOD! 3rd place in Corinthian (which means we had no pro sailors on the boat). The crew consisted of Laurie & Rob Bunn, Scott Sorbie and Bora Gulari driving.

We moved up one spot from last year. Not bad for sailing only one day out of the three and only 3 races in total. We got a 14th on the first race a 1st on the second race and 2nd place on the third race. There was little to no wind almost all weekend except for Saturday afternoon. O'well, it was warm and sunny and we all had a lot of fun! Hopefully the light air did not cause too much liver damage.

Key West Race Week 2006

What a great time!  We were faced with all sorts of conditions and enjoyed them all.
Monday was a light air start to the regatta and Tom Ritter had a good day to get his feet wet driving the boat.  The first race didnt go so well.  We were over early and then hit the top mark.  by the second race we figured out how to avoid both those problems and improved.
Tuesday on the way out to the race couse our main halyard let go.  Of course we were forced to head back to the harbor to drop the rig.  Once we retrieved the halyard  and got the rig back up, there was little or no chance of making it back out to the race course in time for the second race.
This was a very relaxing day in the pool....
Wednesday with the breeze up,  we headed out to the race course and successfully made it around the course unscathed.
Cujo sitting on our windward hip downwind,  was not so lucky.  We all got to watch a M24 rig come down in a much more dramatic fashion then ours did in Traverse City.  Their Rig actually broke in half and landed in the water.
Our old rig is still in one piece with an exploded shiv box.

Thursday we showed more improvement,  with a 36 & 23.
We woke up Friday morning with lighter conditions then we had seen the previous 2 days.  This was our best day, finishing with 2 25's to finish out the regatta.
Tom Ritter showed great improvement on the helm throughout the week and looks forward to another chance at helming in the class.
Hopefully we can get him out for another regatta on 202 before he buys his own boat....

St. Pete NOOD is our next regatta!  With our crew from last year coming back, (Bora Gulari holding the stick and Scott Sorbie mid boat) hopefully we can repeat or improve our 5th out of 45 boats that we got last year.  That may be pretty tough,  but we are going to give it hell!!!

See everyone down there!

Our mast is broken

During race #5 in the Traverse City Invitational,  Mike Dow tried to do a last minute duc at the windward mark.
When his boat stood up,  our rigs clicked and destroyed our shive box, blew up the halyard and caused our rig to come down.
Well, sorta.  the vang was cleated and held the rig up until we turned down- wind and got the spinn halyard on the bow.
The bad news is that we couldn't race for the rest of the day.
The good news is that Mike Dow and his crew were nice enough to offer their boat to us for Sundays racing.
Mikes boat was brand new.  Hull #613
We were able to pull off a 1st place finish in the first race on Sunday and followed that with a 5th and 4th.

With a new rig on the way,  we will have to race Red Fox with the rig from Hull #513 (Dow's old boat).

Many thanks to Mike Dow and his crew.  Even though it was their fault,  they showed outstanding sportsmanship during the whole ordeal.
From putting someone on our boat to help keep the rig up, to giving us his brand new boat to race with the next day,  Mike made everything much easier to handle.
